Raina Thomas Walton is the Owner and President of RT Thomas Insurance, a second-generation, family-owned independent insurance agency founded in 1971. Building on the legacy established by her parents, Raina has grown the agency into a nationally recognized, woman- and minority-owned firm known for its commitment to education, transparency, and long-term client relationships.
With more than three decades of industry experience, Raina is widely respected as both an insurance professional and an industry thought leader. In 2023, she was named Travelers Personal Insurance Agent of the Year, a national honor recognizing exceptional client advocacy, community involvement, and carrier partnership.
Raina is a frequent contributor to leading insurance publications and platforms, including IA Magazine, Openly, and Agent for the Future, where she writes on topics such as agency leadership, perpetuation planning, women in sales, and advancing diversity and inclusion within the independent agency channel. Her work reflects a consistent belief that well-educated clients and empowered teams create stronger agencies and better outcomes for the industry as a whole.
In addition to her agency leadership, Raina serves on multiple carrier advisory and national producer councils, partnering with leading insurers to help shape underwriting, distribution, and agent-focused initiatives at a national level.
At RT Thomas Insurance, Raina has intentionally built a collaborative, team-based agency model where account managers are empowered to advise, sell, and serve clients holistically. Her leadership philosophy centers on clarity, trust, and accountability—ensuring clients understand their coverage and team members are positioned to grow professionally and financially.
Outside the office, Raina enjoys time with her husband and her beloved dog, Gabby, and remains deeply committed to mentoring the next generation of independent insurance professionals.
